This 4'x8' table was designed in house and built using reclaimed 100 year old 3 inch thick floor joists for the top. The base was constructed of beams of the same vintage. Lockable castors make this piece easily moveable. Stained and finished with satin polyurethane, this table will last for generations and looks beautiful at Berkshire Hathaway's Dryden Office.
These cabinets have an interesting history. I originally built the cabinets over 10 years prior to Ithacor's ownership. At that time, the cabinetry had open upper shelving. Having taken ownership, Ithacor needed doors built to match my original raised panel work. I still had the profiles and stain recorded and was able to produce perfectly matching doors.
I was co-commissioned by C4A and a local restaurateur to design and build this beautiful bar and matching bar back cabinetry. This piece features solid oak raised panels, custom milled fluted columns, crown moldings, adjustable shelving and hand carved roman numerals of the date it was completed. This picture of the bar and back bar was taken at the time of my completion. It has since been modified by volunteers of the center.
I converted this half-canoe into a beautiful coffee bar. Featuring lower doors for storage, faux painted marble top, vintage reclaimed hardware and switched top lighting, it has become a feature of the client's lake side home.
This was a very early piece that I built around the vintage tin drawers that I had picked at a barn sale. I had it in my office for a short time, and when I decided to sell it, it was acquired by the owner of The Loft for use as a server's station.
I worked with Floristry, Cortland, NY to design and build a modular, stackable plant display system. Built out of solid maple and custom stained, these pieces are now being used at Yaman Real Estate's Home office in Cortland, NY.
My woodshop is near a metal recycling business and these crates held solid steel embossing dyes that were recycled. I used the wooden crates to make this feature wall in my office. It is a unique and inspiring utilization of materials that would have otherwise ended up at a landfill. I've enjoyed arranging books and creating a memory wall with artifacts and photographs. So many nooks and surfaces to display items!
A client of mine came to me with an interesting request. He had his Grandmother's Stickley Bed and asked if I could make it into a bench. The piece had been in storage, and this conversion would bring a family heirloom into the future. I carefully assessed its structure and was able to modify all of the parts to become this beautiful bench. This picture was taken before the client had a cushion made. I published a video on YouTube documenting this conversion. View the video HERE!
A local sawyer and family friend brought me this black walnut slab that he cut himself. He provided the leg set, and asked that I mill and finish the rough slab and assemble the pieces into a coffee table for his office. It was an honor to be trusted to plane and finish the slab and bring this sawyer's dream into reality.
This custom bathroom vanity was created for a local homeowner in a historical district. Her goal was to have a piece created that would have all the storage she needed, but would also be a "tip of the hat" to the style of her home.
Limited on space, I worked with the director to design, build and install a custom desk and cabinetry that were both functional and blended well with the historic architecture. You can see the 3D rendering for the office here.
I created this station using a headboard and reclaimed materials. The entire piece was stripped and refinished with paint and varnish. I restored the 1920's desk lamp and mounted it to the top to shed the perfect hue for checking in guests. Dasher's is one of our favorite local restaurants and is highly recommended as a destination if your visit Homer, NY!
