I've always been a maker. In 2012, I left my public school teaching job and began my own General Contracting business. I ran that successfully for 6 years and in 2018, opened an event venue / shared woodshop in Cortland, NY called Owego Street Makery. Being the Founder, I referred to myself as "Makeryguy", and the name stuck. I sold the event business and property in 2024 and operated out of the woodshop portion of the property. My present day shop is a brand new 1500 square foot studio at my home where I now channel my energy into my natural talents as a maker, artist and designer. Makeryguy Woodworks was established in 2023 with a renewed focus on Custom Furniture, Furniture Restoration, Custom Signs, and Interior Design.  I'm also learning and growing as a social media creator on Instagram and YouTube, sharing project updates, tips, tricks and life reflection as an entrepreneur.
